The medial malleolus is the bony bump on the inner side of
the ankle, formed by the tibia. For artists, it’s an important
landmark when drawing or sculpting the leg and foot.
Shape and Position:
The medial malleolus is more prominent and higher
than the outer ankle bone (lateral
malleolus). This difference adds realism to the ankle’s
shape.
It sits close to the skin, creating visible contours,
especially in thinner or muscular figures.
