The medial malleolus is the bony bump on the inner side of the ankle, formed by the tibia. For artists, it’s an important landmark when drawing or sculpting the leg and foot.
Shape and Position:
- The medial malleolus is more prominent and higher than the outer ankle bone (lateral malleolus). This difference adds realism to the ankle’s shape.
- It sits close to the skin, creating visible contours, especially in thinner or muscular figures.
