My name is Brian Lee, and I’m a software engineer working to become a full-time artist. My focus is classical fine art. My favorite era is the Baroque, and my favorite subject is the human figure.
Thanks to my engineering background, I love complexity. Thus, I enjoy the challenge of studying human anatomy. Following tradition, I’ve put together my notes here. They are always a work in progress, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Why is this book different from classics like Artistic Anatomy by Paul Richer or Human Anatomy for Artists by Elliot Goldfinger?
These notes are my attempt to bring all my anatomy studies into one place. My goal is to learn, remember, and organize as much information as possible. I’ve experienced the common frustration of trying to find notes that cross-reference all the key artistic anatomy books. So, I hope these notes will save others time and effort. I also aim to include as many examples of great artworks that clearly illustrate artistic anatomy as possible. I hope these notes will be useful to others one day.
This is a passion project and will stay free forever. The project is self-funded. I may sell related merchandise in the future, but the content will always be freely available in full.
